AlQa'dah 19, 1434, Sep 25, 2013, SPA -- The number of people confirmed dead after the magnitude-7.7 earthquake in south-western Pakistan has climbed to 328, officials said Wednesday. The epicentre of Tuesday's quake was in the Awaran district of Balochistan province, and several nearby areas were also hit. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) says 285 people were killed in Awaran and 43 in the neighbouring district of Kech. Some 498 people were injured. Jan Muhammed Buledi, a provincial government spokesman, said the figures might rise because reports from remoter areas were still to come. More than 500 houses were destroyed in Awaran, Khan Wasseh, spokesman for the paramilitary Frontier Corps, told dpa.
