Ukrainian cabinet approves EU association plan

AlQa'dah 12, 1434, Sep 18, 2013, SPA -- The Ukrainian cabinet on Wednesday approved a plan for an association agreement with the European Union, media reports said, according to dpa.
Ukraine is hoping to become the first eastern neighbor to sign an association and free-trade agreement with the EU during an Eastern Partnership summit in November - at which Armenia, Georgia and Moldova had also been expected to initial similar deals.
The agreement still needs approval from Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and the EU Council of Ministers.
