AlQa'dah 12, 1434, Sep 18, 2013, SPA -- U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia James Smith praised the Kingdom which has seen tremendous advancements since it was founded by Late King Abdulaziz. "The true legacy of Saudi Arabia is hard work," Smith told the Third Saudi-U.S. Business Opportunities Forum in Los Angeles, California, during his keynote address Tuesday night. Ambassador Smith thanked Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah for his "leadership in organizing the event and Saudi Ambassador to the U.S.A. Adel Ahmed Al-Jubeir. "It is entirely appropriate that we have this event in Los Angeles," Smith said, because the Standard Oil Building, which was completed four years before U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt met with Late King Abdulaziz, is just "two-and-a-half blocks from where you sit tonight." Smith focused much of his speech on telling personal stories of experiences he has had in his time as ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the changes that have occurred in the Kingdom.
