AlQa'dah 8, 1434, Sep 14, 2013, SPA -- A U.S. envoy for Sudan and South Sudan has met with Sudanese officials in Khartoum, over disputes concerning an oil-rich region claimed by the two neighbors, AP reported. In his first trip to the region, Donald Booth met Saturday with the head of the Sudanese side of the Abyei Joint Oversight Committee (AJOC), tasked with resolving the dispute over the oil-rich Abyei region. He will fly on Sunday to Juba where he will hold similar meetings with South Sudan's AJOC officials. The State Department said the mission aims to "express the United States' deep concern at the lack of progress made by Sudan and South Sudan" over their differences. -- SPA 21:20 LOCAL TIME 18:20 GMT تغريد
