AlQa'dah 8, 1434, Sep 14, 2013, SPA -- A South Korean weightlifting prize-winner Saturday heard his national anthem played in Pyongyang, the first time the song has been played during a sports event in North Korea since the Korean War, the Yonhap news agency reported, according to dpa. South Korean Kim Woo Sik came first in the 85-kilogram category in the junior competition at the Asian Cup and Interclub weightlifting championship in Pyongyang. Kim and compatriot Lee Young Gun were the only competitors in the weight category. The South Korean national anthem played as two South Korean flags were raised in the Ryugyong Jong Ju Yong Indoor Stadium, where the audience stood. North Korea has not allowed South Korea's national anthem to be played on its soil since the 1950-53 Korean War. South Korea has sent 22 lifters and 19 coaches to the championship, which opened Wednesday. -- SPA 20:49 LOCAL TIME 17:49 GMT تغريد
