AlQa'dah 8, 1434, Sep 14, 2013, SPA -- German Chancellor Angela warned backers of her conservative Christian Democrat Union Saturday that this month's election outcome will be close as she worked to mobilize voters, dpa reported. "We have to fight. It will be close," Merkel told a conference of her CDU in Heilbronn in the south-western state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Opinion polls point to the CDU and its Bavarian-based Christian Social Union (CSU) allies remaining the biggest political bloc after the general elections on September 22. But those same polls also show the current ruling coalition - of the CDU/CSU and the pro-business Free Democrats - as either securing only a narrow majority in parliament or even failing to win a parliamentary majority.
