AlQa'dah 4, 1434, Sep 10, 2013, SPA -- U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden said Monday he may need to postpone an upcoming trip to Panama as Congress debates authorizing U.S. military strikes against Syria. Biden is scheduled to visit Panama and Mexico next week to strengthen U.S. relations with Latin America. On Biden's itinerary is a visit to the Panama Canal's expansion projects and meetings with the presidents of both countries. But Biden, speaking at an event in Baltimore about ports and infrastructure, said he may have to delay his trip to Panama due to to pressures in the Senate, where lawmakers are debating President Barack Obama's request for a military response to chemical-weapons use in Syria. Biden did not mention whether his Mexico visit may need to be postponed.
