AlQa'dah 1, 1434, Sep 7, 2013, SPA -- Jose Manuel de la Torre was on Saturday dismissed as Mexico coach in the wake of a 2-1 home defeat against Honduras which makes them fear for a place at next year's World Cup, dpa reported. De la Torre's assistant Luis Fernando Tena was put in charge by the Mexican football federation and has three games left to assure a berth at the 2014 finals in Brazil. De la Torre won the Gold Cup with Mexico in 2011 but the team went out in the group stage of the recent Confederations Cup and is only fourth in their World Cup qualifying group ahead of a difficult Tuesday game in the United States. Only the top three of the group qualify directly, while the fourth-placed side faces a play-off against New Zealand. Tena guided Mexico to a surprise Olympic gold medal in London last year with victory over Brazil in the Wembley final. -- SPA 20:50 LOCAL TIME 17:50 GMT تغريد
