AlQa'dah 01, 1434, September 07, 2013, SPA -- Taiwan's justice minister has resigned amid allegations that he and another official had pressured a state prosecutor to drop a case of embezzlement against a senior politician, officials said. Tseng Yung-fu resigned after being called to the prime minister's office twice Friday. Tseng's deputy Chen Ming-tang will fill in as the interim minister. Tseng insisted on his innocence and vowed to clear his name as a civilian, saying he would welcome an investigation. The allegations have dealt a blow to the credibility of the island's judicial system and the ruling Kuomintang party. -- SPA 10:30 LOCAL TIME 07:30 GMT تغريد
