Four people were killed when a helicopter carrying 18 people crashed off the Shetland Islands in Scotland, police said Saturday. The French-built Eurocopter Super Puma L2 helicopter with two crew members and 16 passengers on board was ferrying workers from the Borgsten Dolphin oil platform in the North Sea when it crashed west of Sumburgh Airport at around 6:30 pm (1730 GMT) on Friday. Three bodies have been recovered, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) said in a statement. Work is underway to recover the fourth. Fourteen people, including the two crew members, were taken to hospital, police said. Nine were kept overnight either for observation or because they suffered exposure, according to DPA.
