A tornado swept through a children's camp in the Baden-Wurttemberg region of Germany, injuring 27 child campers and staff, UPI quoted officials as saying. The children, ages 10 through 13, were among the 80 campers participating at a camp of the Evangelical Free Church near Aalen when the tornado touched down Monday, Sudwest Presse reported Tuesday. The tornado touched down during lunch, a witness said. "We have been crying out to the children [that] they should [lie] on the ground, and then it was over," the witness said. The tornado damaged the supply tent, tossed the kitchen trailer, felled trees and damaged cabins, Sudwest Presse said. Damage was estimated at about $268,000, the police. Injuries included several broken arms, officials said. Officials said the road between Welzheim and Hellershof was closed because of downed trees.
