Fifty-eight people were taken to hospital Thursday following an explosion at a fireworks festival venue in Kyoto Prefecture, police and local firefighters said. Of the 58, 14 are seriously injured including two who suffered burns over their entire bodies. At least a dozen of those rushed to hospital are children, they said. The blast occurred at around 7:30 p.m. shortly before the start of the festival on the bank of the Yura River in Fukuchiyama, they said.
