White House Condemns Violence in Egypt

The White House condemned Wednesday the violence that has occurred in Egypt, saying that it will only make it more difficult for the country to move forward.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters at Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, where President Barack Obama is vacationing, that violence runs counter to the pledges made by Egypt's interim government.
Earnest said that the "world is watching" what is happening in Cairo and urged restraint.
