India's Defence Minister AK Antony confirmed that sailors had died in an explosion and fire on board a submarine in naval dockyards in Mumbai on Wednesday. "I have briefed the prime minister (Manmohan Singh) about the tragedy," Antony told reporters outside the parliament. "I feel sad about the navy personnel who lost their lives in the service of the country." He did not specify the number of casualties, DPA reported.
