Three suicide bombers detonated their car bomb near the Indian consulate in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, killing nine people, police said. "The bombers' target was Indian consulate in Jalalabad city, but they were identified by police some 100 metres from the consulate, so they detonated the explosives close to a mosque," said Sharifullah Amin, police chief for Nangarhar province. According to dpa, he said eight children and an adult were killed and 22 people were injured, adding the children had been reading the Koran in the mosque. Afghan police and Indian authorities in Kabul said there were no casualties or injuries among diplomats.
