The Secretary General of the Arab League, Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi, and the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, called on all warring parties in Syria for ceasing fire and violence in all their forms during the period of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr so that the Syrian people celebrate this religious occasion and perform its rituals in peace and security. They stressed in a press statement issued by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation today that a political solution to the crisis achieves the aspirations of the Syrian people, calling on all regional and international parties to support this appeal of ceasefire, and urge the Syrian government to show wisdom and stop the killing and destruction in order to address all issues by peaceful means.
