The United States would be "deeply disappointed" if the Russian government allowed fugitive intelligence leaker Edward Snowden to leave the transit zone of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport, a State Department spokeswoman said Wednesday, dpa reported. "Obviously any move that would allow Mr Snowden to depart the airport would be deeply disappointing," spokeswoman Jen Psaki said, noting that US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke by telephone Wednesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Psaki said Kerry reiterated the US belief that Snowden should be returned to the US where he will face a fair trial. "Russia still has the ability to do the right thing," Psaki said. -- SPA 22:15 LOCAL TIME 19:15 GMT تغريد
