Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) was poised to win elections for the upper house of parliament, regaining control of the chamber, dpa quoted broadcasters NHK and NTV as projecting. The LDP and its New Komeito junior coalition partner are expected to win some 80 seats of the 121 up for grabs - more than the 63 needed for a majority. The win would give Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's coalition control of both chambers of parliament.
