Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh region and Honorary President of the Charitable Society for the Holy Quran Memorization, patronized here Tuesday evening the annual ceremony hosted by the Society to honor memorizers of the Holy Quran in Riyadh region, in the presence of Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Vice Governor of Riyadh region and the Society's Honorary Vice President. The Society's President Saad bin Mohammed Al Ferryman pointed out the number of students for this year 1434 AH amounts to 130,000 in the city of Riyadh, and 600 students have memorized completely the Holy Quran. The Governor of Riyadh region inaugurated the charitable project of "Palm Endowment", and donated SR 500,000 for the project; and Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz also donated SR 500,000 for the project. The ceremony was attended by the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and President of Council of Senior Scholars and General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh; Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz; Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thinayyan, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and Chairman of Board of Directors of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC); and Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh.
