Philippine government negotiators and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) say they have reached an agreement on a crucial revenue-sharing accord for a proposed Muslim autonomous region. A breakaway insurgent group, however, continued attacks in the country's south to try to undermine the peace talks, according to a report of the Associated Press. Government negotiators and the 11,000-strong Moro Islamic Liberation Front said in a statement that they signed the wealth-sharing agreement late Saturday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's main city. Malaysia has been brokering the years-long talks aimed at peacefully settling a Muslim rebellion that has left more than 120,000 dead and held back progress in resource-rich but poor southern Philippine regions. The military, however, said Sunday that a breakaway rebel group has resumed attacks in southern Maguindanao province to try to undermine steadily progressing peace negotiations.
