The security chief of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari was killed on Wednesday in a suicide bombing attack in the southern port city of Karachi, local officials said, according to dpa. A bullet proof vehicle carrying Bilal Sheikh was hit by a bomber in the Guru Mandar area of the city. "Three people including Bilal Sheikh have been killed and 12 injured in the attack," Nisar Khan, a police officer, told dpa. Zardari's spokesman Farhatullah Babar told dpa in an SMS that the president, who is in Karachi, was safe. Police official Usman Bajwa told media that the car carrying Bilal Sheikh did not sustain the impact of the bombing. A bomb expert said that about 4 kilogrammes of explosives as well as metal balls were used in the attack.
