Officials at Kenya's Mombasa port said they have seized a consignment of illegal ivory disguised as peanuts for export to Malaysia. Paul Mbugua, a spokesman for the Kenya Wildlife Service, said Tuesday that the ivory was seized on Monday, the second such seizure in less than a week. Revenue officials in Mombasa last week seized a substantial consignment of illegal ivory disguised as sundried fish marked for export to Malaysia, AP reported. Mbugua said the more than three tons of ivory seized had been declared as 240 bags of peanuts.
