An earthquake measuring 5.9 magnitude struck the Pacific coast of El Salvador Sunday night. Panic-stricken residents rushed out into the streets as the quake shook buildings in San Salvador. The quake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale was centered 38 kilometers southeast of the capital San Salvador and at a depth of 97 kilometers, according to the US Geological Survey.
