Four people were taken to hospital for injuries sustained Sunday on the opening day of the annual bull run through the narrow streets of Pamplona, Spain, local media reported. None of the injuries was serious and no one was gored by the bulls, dpa quoted authorities as saying. A 26-year-old American received facial wounds while a 24-year-old Australian suffered minor head injuries. A 44-year-old Briton was injured at the knee and a 36-year-old Spaniard fractured his forearm. The event, which lasts until July 14, attracts thousands from across the world who try to outrun the bulls along a 825-metre route through the streets of the old city. Last year, 38 people were injured during the festival. The last death was in 2009.
