The Minister of Culture and Information, Dr.Abdul-Aziz Bin Mohieddin Khoja has approved the executive by-laws for licensing radio and television studios that operate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The by-laws organize work of all the studios of radio and television operating in the Kingdom and are created for the purpose of production, transmission or linkage in favor of specific channels or for rental to others. President of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media Dr. Riad bin Kamal Najm said that this law replaces an old one issued by the Ministry of Culture and Information several years ago. All studios operating in the Kingdom should be licensed in accordance with this regulation as of the date of the issuance of this decision, according to Dr. Najm. Dr. Najm said that the existing studios will be given time to comply with the new regulations until the end of the current Hijri year 1434. Then, regulations will be applied against violators.
