A U.S. grand jury has returned a 30-count indictment against the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. Dzhokar Tsarnaev was indicted Thursday on charges including using a weapon of mass destruction and bombing a place of public use, resulting in death. Three people were killed and over 260 were injured in two explosions close to the finish line of the famous race. Dzhokar's older brother, Tamerlan, was killed during a shootout with police on April 19. According to authorities, the brothers used shrapnel-packed pressure cooker bombs in the attack. They are also accused of killing a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) police officer. The U.S. Attorney's office says that 17 of the charges against Dzhokar Tsarnaev could bring life in prison or the death penalty.
