Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, has notified the ruling family and dignitaries of Qatar that he has decided to give up power to his son and heir apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, according to Al-Jazeerah TV channel. In a breaking news, Al-Jazeerah said Sheikh Hamad has come out of a meeting with the ruling family and the country's influential social leaders before informing them of his decision to surrender the power to his heir apparent.
