Dr. Mufrej bin Saad Al-Haqbani, Labor Vice Minister, said foreign laborers and personnel who are set to leave the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for good during the amnesty period which lasts until July 3 will have to update their biometrics as the only condition for exit permission. They will be exempted from Iqama (residency permit) fees, labor license, and fines and penalties related to their violations over the previous periods, he said. In a statement, Al-Haqbani said expatriates who opt to stay and rectify their situations will also have the advantage of transferring their sponsorship on line through http://www.mol.gov.sa. However, those intend to change engineering and medical professions and other profession which need to show certification, will have to personally report to a labor office, he explained. For those depicted as runaways (horoob), two options are there: to return and work for current sponsors, if they came to agreement, or transfer to other sponsors without the consent of the current sponsor. Had there arisen any financial claims between them, labor courts will have to settle them, Al-Haqbani added. He drew the attention to the fact that the current amnesty will not cover infiltrators who entered the country illegally. Housemaids and private drivers will also have the chance to transfer their sponsorship to new employers without approval of current sponsors, he declared. --More 13:59 LOCAL TIME 10:59 GMT تغريد
