The Portuguese parliament Friday approved a revised austerity budget for this year after the Constitutional Court struck down four earlier cost-cutting measures, according to dpa. The government is hoping the budget would allow it to reduce the budget deficit to 5.5 per cent of gross domestic product from 6.4 per cent in 2012. That target was set with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, which granted Lisbon a bailout worth 78 billion euros (100 billion dollars) in 2011. -- SPA 18:02 LOCAL TIME 15:02 GMT تغريد
