Several people climbed from the rubble of a collapsed building Wednesday in Philadelphia with the help of firefighters and were able to walk out past piles of bricks, dpa reported. A vacant, four-storey brick building that was under demolition collapsed onto a one-storey building housing a thrift store, Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said. More than 100 firefighters were working at the scene to free two people still known to be trapped in the rubble while 12 people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries, he said. The people seen climbing out of the wreckage appeared to have been inside an uncollapsed pocket of the thrift store, where a religious charity sold used, donated goods.
