FIFA president Joseph Blatter rejected Wednesday in Port Louis, Mauritius, criticism against the governing body of world football for its refusal to impose age limits on its officials, dpa reported. "I am sure the FIFA Congress will seal the second part of reforms, except on one issue: age limit, which is what the media have been talking about as if it were the most important thing in the world," Blatter said after a meeting with Mauritius's Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolan. The two-day FIFA Congress that starts Thursday in the island on the Indian ocean is expected to implement other major reforms to increase democracy and transparency within its ranks and clean up its poor image. On Tuesday, the FIFA Executive Committee decided to postpone until 2014 debate on age limits for officials and term limits for the president, which were expected to be voted on during the upcoming Congress. "For me, the age limit is discrimination," said Blatter, aged 77. "I agree with limiting mandates. But for everyone, not just for some." Blatter said the Executive Committee had asked the Congress for "time to find a viable solution, which was not possible by Friday." -- SPA 20:17 LOCAL TIME 17:17 GMT تغريد
