Riyadh newspaper said the conflict in Syria is basically a reflection of the struggle between the world powers continuing since the Cold War between the former Soviet Union, currently Russia, and the United States. Al-Yaum and Okaz newspapers hailed the EU's decision on lifting the ban on the supply of arms to the Syrian Revolution saying that the European Union's decision to end the arms embargo on the Syrian opposition is the most successful decision taken by the Union after a long hesitation which allowed the regime of Bashar Al-Assad and his cronies to indulge in the killing of the Syrian people.
