A suspected militant was shot dead after throwing a home-made bomb at police officers in Indonesia's West Java province, police said Tuesday. Police chased the suspect after he hurled the bomb at a police post and slashed an officer with a machete in Tasikmalaya district Monday night, West Java police spokesman Martinus Sitompul said. Sitompul said the man was linked to a group of suspected militants killed and arrested near the city of Bandung last week, according to a report of DPA. Last week police killed seven terrorism suspects and arrested 17 others during raids in separate locations on Java island.
