Turkey's state television says a large explosion and fire at an oil pipeline in southeastern Turkey have injured one person. The report says the explosion was accidental and not the result of an attack, according to dpa. TRT television says Wednesday's accident was caused by an excavator who struck the pipeline while digging an irrigation canal just outside the southeastern city of Diyarbakir. He was seriously injured. Private Dogan news agency footage from the scene showed black smoke clouds rising into the sky. The pipeline, carrying locally-produced oil from the Turkish province of Batman to Adana, on the Mediterranean coast, was shut down.
