King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, currently on a state visit to the United States, is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama at the White House on Friday. Yesterday, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden met with the Jordanian monarch over breakfast at the Naval Observatory in Washington, the White House said. “The Vice President and the King discussed how best to advance a political transition to a peaceful, democratic post-Assad Syria where moderates are empowered," the White House said in a statement. “The Vice President underscored the strength of the U.S.-Jordanian relationship and noted enduring U.S. support for Jordan."
