Two children were killed when a major fire swept through a slum on the outskirts of New Delhi in India Friday, police said. According to dpa, six people were injured in the blaze that gutted around 500 shanties and makeshift dwellings in the Bawana area, police officer Rajpal Singh said from the scene. Twenty-five fire engines doused the fire in operations lasting over two hours. The cause of the fire was not known, Singh said.
