Former South African President Nelson Mandela has been discharged from hospital after treatment for pneumonia, the government said today. Mandela, 94, was discharged "following a sustained and gradual improvement in his general condition," said spokesman Mac Maharaj, according to the Sapa news agency. His treatment will now continue at home. He was admitted to hospital on March 27 with pneumonia and since had fluid drained from his lungs.
