A Syrian fighter jet on Wednesday fired a missile into a border town in eastern Lebanon, the official National News Agency reported, the second such incident in one month. According to dpa, the missile hit a house on the outskirts of the village of Arsal, causing material damage, the agency added. It was not clear if the jet had flown into Lebanese airspace. Earlier, gunmen attacked a convoy of diesel trucks in the northern Lebanese port city of Tripoli that were heading for Syria, injuring one driver, reported the agency.
