Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, opened here today the annual joint meetings of Arab financial bodies and the 4th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Finance. The Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meetings with the participation of the Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Mubarak. Ministers of Finance, Planning, Economy and Agriculture, and governors of central banks in Arab countries are also attending the meetings. The meetings will focus on the implementation of the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to increase the capital of Arab joint financial institutions by not less than 50% which was adopted by the 3rd Arab Developmental, Economic and Social Summit held in Riyadh on 9-10 Rabi' I, 1434 AH.
