China agreed to buy four Russian Lada-class submarines and 24 Su-35 fighter jets in a deal signed shortly before President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow last week, state media said on Monday. "China and Russia signed outline agreements for two big arms-buying agreements," China Central Television reported. One agreement covers cooperation in building four Lada-class submarines for purchase by China, including two to be built in China, the state broadcaster said. It said the second deal was for 24 advanced Su-35 jets "a fourth-generation fighter plane which is very close to the fifth generation."
