South Korea's Navy carried out maritime drills in the tensely guarded western sea on Monday ahead of the third anniversary of the sinking of the Cheonan warship by North Korea. The 1,200-ton Navy corvette with 104 personnel aboard sank in the Yellow Sea on March 26, 2010, killing 46 sailors. According to South Korean news agency 'Yonhap,' the anniversary drill was held separately from an ongoing South Korea-US annual exercise, called Foal Eagle, which is being held from March 01 to April 30 to test the combat readiness of the allies' militaries.
