Malaysia has arrested the military commander of some 200 Filipino militants fighting in the Sabah state, police said on Saturday. Deputy police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said the commander was arrested with his wife after a tip-off. A Malaysian national who assisted the Filipinos was also held. He gave no further details. "With the capture of the commander and a local stooge of the terrorists, I am confident the terrorist group is now crippled," the official news agency Bernama quoted the deputy chief as saying.
