Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh region and Chairman of Riyadh Development Higher Commission, opened here today the project of the extension of Abu Bakr and Al-Oroubah roads through Riyadh Air Base and the tunnel project of the intersection of King Abdul- Aziz Road with Al-Oroubah road. The opening ceremony of the project was held in the presence of Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Vice Governor of Riyadh Region and Vice Chairman of the Commission. The Governor also laid the foundation stone for the tunnel project of Salaheddine road in the intersection with the Makkah road. In a press statement, the Governor of Riyadh region thanked the Saudi leadership for its support and efforts for the country's progress and advancement. He highlighted the importance of this project in facilitating traffic and relieving traffic congestion. The Governor announced naming the square of the intersection of Abu Bakr road with Al-Oroubah Road after the late Prince Sattam bin Abdul-Aziz in recognition of his services to the city of Riyadh and its inhabitants.
