Former South African president Nelson Mandela was admitted to a hospital on Saturday for what the government said was "a scheduled medical check-up." dpa reported. Mandela was discharged from a Pretoria hospital on December 26 after two weeks of treatment following a lung infection and surgery to remove a gallstone. The Nobel peace laureate, 94, had since received care at his home. "Doctors are conducting tests and have thus far indicated that there is no reason for any alarm," the South African presidency said in a statement.
