U.S. stocks ended slightly higher Friday. In world markets, European stocks fell, while Asian markets ended mixed. The U.S. dollar rose versus the euro, and rose versus the yen. Benchmark light sweet crude oil fell slightly to $90.87 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, and gold futures fell to $1,575.20 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 35.17, or 0.3 percent, to 14,089.66. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 3.52, or 0.2 percent, to 1,518.20. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 9.55, or 0.3 percent, to 3,169.74.
