Delegates participating in the Conference of the Friends of the Syrian People, held here today, agreed on providing more political and material support for the National Coalition, a spectrum of political factions and dignitaries calling for President Bashar Al-Assad's regime stepping down. Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led his country's delegation to the meeting. The final communiqué of the conference said that representatives of U.S.A, European as well as Arab countries, have pledged to provide more political and material support of the opposition, notably the National Coalition, in its capacity as the sole recognized legitimate representative of the Syrian people. The conference vowed to provide support for the Higher Command of the Syrian Free Army and, provide support for the coalition to, later, establish a democratic political system that guarantees equality for all people without segregation of any kind. The conferees stressed the need to keep Syria united, calling on the Syrian regime to take the opportunity to accept these appropriate conditions to start a march that conduce to the solution of the crisis, including the resignation of President Al-Assad, stoppage of atrocities and release of prisoners. -- SPA
