Judge Desmond Nair on Friday raised Oscar Pistorius' bail to 1 million rand (112,600 dollars) - of which 100,000 rand must be deposited by next week, dpa reported. The defence and prosecutor had earlier agreed on bail of 250,000 rand. The judge did not explain why he increased the amount. Pistorius must surrender his passport and appear regularly at police stations for confirmation of his presence in the country. He must also surrender all firearms, cannot communicate with witnesses and he cannot go to his own home, where Reeva Steenkamp was killed. -- SPA
