Dozens of Israelis marched into a village near Nablus and torched six cars Thursday, dpa cited a Palestinian activist in the West Bank as saying. Ghassan Daghlas said residents of the village of Qusra confronted the group of Israelis from a nearby settlement and forced them to leave. The Israeli occupation police were checking the report. On Wednesday, Qusra residents had clashed with Israeli occupation soldiers who had come to the area to remove alleged power lines set up by the villagers without a permit. Daghlas said eight people were hurt in the clashes with the occupation soldiers. The West Bank has recently become the focus of confrontations between Israeli occupation soldiers and Palestinians holding solidarity rallies in support of hunger-striking prisoners. The violence has sparked fears in Israel of another Palestinian uprising.
