Saudi-Turkmen Joint Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation started here today the meetings of its 2nd session under the co-chairmanship of Saudi Arabia's Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, and Turkmenistan's Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Bayar Ibaev. Addressing the meeting, Dr. Al-Rabiah stressed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strengthen and develop its existing relations with the Republic of Turkmenistan, especially in light of historical and cultural relations between the two countries. He called on Turkmen side for further cooperation with the Kingdom, the exchange of experiences, promotion of joint investments, activation of the role of the private sector, and facilitation of the entry of Saudi investors into Turkmenistan. For his part, the Turkmenistan's Minister called on the Saudi side to take advantage of his country's sectors of gas, oil, textiles, cotton cultivation, agricultural products, the exchange of experiences, and the organization of meetings and exhibitions in the upcoming period.
