Editorials in Saudi newspapers today highlighted a number of current issues. A number of newspapers commented on International Conference on U.N. Cooperation with Counter-terrorism Centers, which began in Riyadh yesterday in order to discuss four main pillars of the strategy to combat international terrorism. Al-Watan newspaper said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes in the forefront of countries affected by terrorism and those that have succeeded in combating it. Al-Riyadh newspaper stressed the importance of international cooperation in combating terrorism while Al-Bilad newspaper underlined the hopes pinned on the conference. On a different subject under the title "They Kill the Innocent to Destabilize Bahrain", Okaz newspaper said, "There are parties that are inherently criminal and so any lull, understanding or affinity among brothers within a single country or among states and the opposition (of any color) not only disturb those parties but also push them to sabotage and destroy all opportunities of understanding..." The newspaper added that "this is what actually happened, and this is what the enemies of reconciliation among the brothers in Bahrain wanted to achieve so that no deal is reached..." The newspaper asked, "What is the purpose of planting the death bomb on the Saudi-Bahraini bridge..." adding that cowards are afraid of confrontation and resort to crime because they relish bloodshed and instability everywhere. --More
